Whanganui Rugby Football Union (WRFU) and ASAP Training Join Forces to Elevate Rugby Development Programs

 COMMUNITY

The Whanganui Rugby Football Union (WRFU) are pleased to announce an exciting partnership with ASAP Training, aimed at enhancing the Union's Rugby Development programs, Future XV and Gainline. ASAP Training, is a new and exciting addition to Whanganui, owned by experienced and enthusiastic coaches Brayden Coley and Kelsey Stirling.

Future XV, the flagship development initiative by WRFU, focuses on identifying and nurturing young rugby talent, still in school. The program focuses on strength & conditioning, nutrition as well as mental skills - preparing athletes for higher levels of competition.

Gainline, on the other hand, is designed to support & develop up & coming rugby players, aged 18-23.  It targets players at various stages of their rugby journey, offering specialised strength & conditioning training to elevate their game and prepare them for the challenges of Club and Representative rugby, as well as nutrition and mental skills.

The collaboration with ASAP Training reflects WRFU's commitment to providing the best possible opportunities for local rugby talent to thrive and reach their full potential.

WRFU Chief Executive, Bridget Belsham, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to be partnering with ASAP Training who will be providing our emerging talent, both male & female, with off-field skills to further their rugby careers. We have a lot of talented athletes in Whanganui and to be able to continue with our Development programmes, in a new gym facility such as ASAP Training, with Brayden & Kelsey’s expert knowledge and innovation, is fantastic”.

ASAP Training Director, Brayden Coley shared similar sentiments, saying, "We are thrilled to be partnering with the WRFU to contribute to the growth and development of rugby talent in the Whanganui region. We are grateful for the support and confidence shown by the WRFU and we look forward to seeing the success of those selected for these programs.”

The WRFU and ASAP Training partnership signifies a promising future for rugby development in Whanganui, with a shared vision of producing well-rounded athletes excelling both on and off the field.
